Just the facts for now...Daniel is 4 months old, he weighs 14pounds 12oz, is 24 inches long (yes my baby is 2 feet tall) and his head is 16inches around. That puts him in the 34th percentile in weight and the 8th for length and head circumference.
Once I find the adapter cable, I will post more recent pictures.

Tummy Time
Tummy time is our most dreaded time of the day. Daniel just does not like it. But THEY say half his waking time should be in tummy time. How does one make the most of tummy time with a little 4 month old who loves to lay on his back, sit and stand (with help) to look around at the world, enjoy tummy time?
Hand-me downs
Wow, I just finished sorting and storing all the hand-me downs we have so far, and with 8 older nephews, it is a lot. We have 2 large kitchen trash bags full of 24 months clothes, 1 large kitchen trash bag full each of 2/2T, 3/3T and 4/4T. Now all I have to do is figure out what all that means and how 24 months are different from 2 and 2T.
We are so blessed and thankful!!!!!!!

Baby Dedication
Sunday 6/29/2008
Daddy and Daniel take a little snooze before getting ready for the big day.

The baby dedication is really more of a parents dedication, as we do not believe this act has any saving value on its own. The baby dedication will not ensure that Daniel will go Heaven. When he is old enough he will have the opportunity to accept Christ as his own personal savior and receive the free gift of salvation and assurance that he will some day go to Heaven. This is a dedication for us to raise Daniel in a godly manner, teaching him to pray, read the bible and go to church to worship God.

It was also a time for the family to gather and support us as a family

Daniel 2months old and Bseball
Daniel is a real true basball fan. In fact we have lost track of how many games he has been to. For a while he had a true winning streak- every game he went to the Padres won. But then came inter league play and the winning streak was broken. Oh well we can't win them all. One of the best things about going to the games, now, is kid days Sundays. Here is Daniel with some of his Padre loot and at the Padre
A little snag
Looking back now when Daniel had jaundice was truly just a little snag prolonging our departure by just over 1 day. There have been so many who have had so much longer. But at the time I cried ans cried. Seeing my new little man under the lights

looking like a little bug-eyed super hero was heartbreaking. But that too soon passed and we were on our way home, our first car ride.

The Big Day
April 23, 2008,
Daniel arrived this day, only 6 weeks early. Praise God all went well and I can honestly say that it was a very easy labor and delivery. I had done all my research and knew what to expect and had my birth plan and labor bag all packed and ready to go, yes I was all ready to go 6 weeks early. I went to hospital at 8:00 in the morning because my water broke at 5 am- what a way to wake up. My blood pressure kept going up all day-now of course they did not let me get up and walk around, tried to keep my upside down for hours, had the fetal monitor tied extremely tightly around my waist, no food, and the blood pressure machine on my arm that kept going off every 15 minutes - what did they expect? Even so I still believe that all went well and I am truly blessed!!! I was told that I was having contractions and after a while I could guess when they were. At 8:50pm I was measured and I was 3.5 cm dilated, at 10:50 I was 4 cm dilated and at 11:43 Daniel was born.

Pregnancy
When I think back over the pregnancy I am so thankful. I had a very easy pregnancy, no morning sickness at all. The only things I had to contend with was fatigue (and since I love naps that was not a problem) and gestational diabetes, and even that was controlled through diet and exercise. Over all I ended up losing a little bit of weight.
The best website I could recommend is AskDrSears.com
The best books would be The Baby Book, The Pregnancy Book, The Birth Book, The Breastfeeding book and for Daddy, Becoming a Father - all by Dr. Sears and his wife Martha Sears

A brief history
Well, where to start? David & I were married on July 27th, 1996.
Since that time we lived happily just the two of us. Along the way we added to our family 4 cats, today only 3 are still with us, a turtle and several fish. Between the two of us we have 15 nieces and nephews. We enjoyed vacations every year to wonderful places and thought we were very happy. For the past 10 years David has taught at San Diego Christian College, where I graduated last year with my Bachelors in Liberal Studies. Then everything changed.
On Monday October 1st 2007, we found out we were expecting a baby. And now we were off on the next great adventure.
