Part bat

This is why we think our precious baby is part bat.

I was warned

I was warned but I did not listen. I was warned never to put my baby in denim because it makes the baby disappear and the boy appear.
Even more so with a hat

Away to stay home

It was a very hard decision filled with prayer and seeking wisdom from others, and the conclusion was to stay home with Daniel and not student teach this coming spring. So in order to help with the bills since we are down to one income, I have decided to sell Avon. IF anyone is interested in any products for themselves or as gifts or if anyone knows anyone who would be interested in ordering Avon, you can go to my website and order and have it shipped right to your door. http://youravon.com/dhillaker Thanks

Family Bed

I know there is quite a bit of controversy when it comes to the family bed. Some think it should not used at all, some believe the baby should be out at 4 months and others at a year, and every point in between. And then there are those who hold the same belief that we do, and that is use the family bed as long as it is good for the family. Now I know from both reading and personal experience that a baby who sleeps next to mommy wakes more often in the night than a baby in their own bed or room - after all their favorite dinner is right there. But it is all worth it when I wake up and look down only to see the sweetest little face in the world, looking up at me watching me sleep. And when I smile at him, he returns a big good morning smile.

Adventures with Peaches

Normally Daniel loves peaches and gobbles them down without any problems, glitches or too much mess. But today, just one day before he turns 7 months, it was more about playing, making a mess, and all around play time.

But at least he helped clean up.

Here's our little 6 1/2 month old man

Today we had his 6th month check up, yeah it was 2 weeks late, but here are the wonderful facts. The little one who was born 6 weeks early weighing just less than 5 pounds is now 17lb 13 oz and is 26 1/2 inches long. Which now places him the 50th percentile.

Carseat

We have many adventures in the carseat. At first Daniel did not like being in the carseat at all. Well that is a bit of an understatement, he hated it. Then he was fine with it, he would sit down and smile and we would buckle up and be off. Now he is back to not liking it. Only now that he is 6 months he is able to exert his little will a bit more.
First he stands up in the carseat...

Then he arches his back and stiffens his legs, thus doing everything he can to not sit down. However it is not long before the carseat song (yes, we have a carseat song) and gentle tickling gets his to sit down so he can be buckled.

Other foods

Well bananas have been the most popular thus far. But rice cereal is his second favorite.

Now to be truthful we have only tried Bananas, rice cereal and applesauce, and he hated the applesauce, so that only leaves his favorite and second. Oh did I mention that rice cereal is incredibly sticky and gets everywhere?

Frozen Bananas

I have read that frozen bananas make for a good teething remedy for those poor hurting gums.

Daniel does not quite agree.
