Bananas

What fun. Our first experience with solid food was a hit. He ate a bit of smashed banana from both mommy's finger and a spoon. (oh in case I have failed to mention it before...he does have two teeth on the bottom).

Happy Half Birthday

Daniel is 6 month old today!Oh and David says Happy Mole day as well. According to our measurements Daniel is 26 inches tall and weighs almost 17 1/2 pounds. He is a beautiful big boy.
He can even play the Sax.
Then... and now

And in a little bit we will try bananas.

Church hopping

We have visited two Churches thus far. I have decided not to name names. The first was one that my family goes to, it was very nice and it was fun to see them all. The second was an old church home for us. It was good to see old friends again. Both churches had a mothers room in the sanctuary so Daniel and I were able to sty in the whole service.

Oh and Daniel looked great!

Farewell to 5 months

Wow, it is so hard to believe that our little baby is now over 5 months. While we had lots of fun being 5 months, such as our first bus ride and away game. We are looking forward to 6 months.

We also experimented with water bottles

And although the Padres were out of post season play we are still true fans,

it was hard to say goodbye to his 3-6 months clothes, but oh so excited about the new ones.

5 months

Wow!! I cannot believe it has been 5, no 5 1/2 months since Daniel was born. He is getting so big. By the Doctor's scale he is 17.02 pounds and 25 1/4 inches long. He is also learning so much like...there are things to do before 8:00 am such as wake up mommy and not letting daddy snooze. He has learned that if he arches his back and pushes his head down he can scoot - almost right out of arms. He should be rolling all over the place really soon (although he still does not like tummy time). And of course spending time with cousins
and going to Grammie's work

First and Last

This past Sunday Oct. 5th was a day of first for Daniel - his first Piano lesson

And the last meeting of Cornerstone Christian Church. Our church has voted to do a total Church restart. Which means for a while we will be without a church home. The District we are a part of will find new leadership team and they will begin to build and rebuild a new church based on our past, using our past resources so we can continue to have a legacy in El Cajon.

For our family that means a new adventure in church hoping until the launch of the restart. So stay tuned for weekly updates on the places we worship.

Via Las Vegas

It has been a week since we have been back from our first "vacation" with Daniel and things are almost back to normal. We had a lot of fun in new and improved Las Vegas. For starters the only place people can smoke indoors is on the casino floor - so all restaurants, hallways, restrooms, elevators and conference rooms are all smoke free.

The really good news in all this is the cost - this was a working vacation for David who was attending a conference (Daniel helped daddy write quizzes). so the room, the conference and the gas will be reimbursed. For meals we brought most of our food with us. And for the ones were caught out on well.... we received a 50 dollar meal voucher, another 50 voucher for what was supposed to be for gambling or slot play, but was paid out in cash, and 72 dollars in lose change we had been collecting over the years.

our50 dollar nice dinner & Daniel's first experience in a fancy restaurant.
Daniel's first experience with a spoon.

and first try at sitting in a highchair -note the word try - it did not last long.

It was during one of these outings that Daniel made a new friend.

The one thing we looked forward to the most was going swimming - which was an adventure itself wow that was the coldest jacuzzi ever.

The things we will miss the most are the king size bed & the bath tub. the bed is where we all slept very comfortably and Daniel was read stories. And the bath where we got clean and warm up after swimming.
What we wont miss is the traffic and "those people" - the oddest was a mother of terrible two twins who told Daniel that his "mommy needs to dress him in more butch clothing." He was wearing this outfit a light brown ones with dark brown paw prints all over it.
